Enroll Your Child in Sweet Pea Scholars Today!
At Sweet Pea Scholars, our kindergarten readiness curriculum nurtures the whole child through six key areas of development:
1. Self-help and independence
2. Social and emotional confidence
3. Langage and communicative skills
4. Pre-literacy and academic success
5. Fine motor proficiency
6. Gross motor capability
We offer a balanced daily rhythm of open-ended play, guided learning, outdoor exploration, exercise, rest, and nutritious meals, all rooted in the principles of the ELECT framework. Our goal is to support each child’s personal growth and confidence for a smooth, joyful transition to kindergarten.
What age group do you cater to?
Sweet Pea Scholars is thoughtfully designed for children aged 2.5 to 5 years—the perfect stage for building confidence, independence, and school readiness. Our play-based, developmentally rich curriculum supports each child’s journey toward kindergarten success. As a home-based program, my own little one (age 1) is also part of our day, adding to the family-style atmosphere where every child is nurtured, included, and truly cared for.

What is the cost of care?
Investing in your child’s early development is one of the most meaningful choices you’ll make—and I’m here to make it count every single day.
Tuition is $1,100 per month, reflecting the high-quality, nurturing environment provided at Sweet Pea Scholars. This all-inclusive rate covers nutritious meals, drinks, all learning materials, art supplies, and program resources—everything your child needs for an enriching day
What does daily parent communication look like?
Daily updates are shared through the Brightwheel app, our primary tool for family communication. Parents receive real-time updates on attendance, toileting, meals, naps, photos, and daily activities. Weekly learning stories, monthly developmental tracking, and quarterly parent-teacher meetings keep you informed and connected to your child’s growth and progress.
What guidelines do you follow?
While Sweet Pea Scholars is an unlicensed home childcare setting, I am deeply committed to providing high-quality care by closely following the Durham Region Operating Criteria checklist, Region of Durham Health and Safety guidelines, and the Ontario Food Handler Certification standards. My program is also guided by the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) framework, supporting well-rounded development through intentional play-based learning. Your child’s safety, growth, and well-being is always my top priority.
What is the enrollment process?
Families begin by exploring the Sweet Pea Scholars website and requesting a copy of the Parent Handbook via email sweetpeascholar@gmail.com. A video or phone conference is then scheduled to discuss the program details and your family’s needs, followed by an in-person tour of the center. Upon acceptance, a $275 non-refundable deposit and required paperwork secure your child’s spot.

How can I get in touch with you?
Choosing the right care for your little one is a big decision, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. If you have questions, want to schedule a visit, or simply want to chat about your child’s needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
