Welcome to Sweet Pea Scholars
At Sweet Pea Scholars, I provide a nurturing environment for children to thrive. My unlicensed home childcare focuses on educational growth, ensuring that each child is prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for kindergarten. I believe in fostering a love for learning through engaging activities and personalized attention. Our small group size allows for tailored experiences that cater to each child’s unique needs, promoting their overall development. I have carefully designed the program and environment to serve the needs of the six areas of the program’s focus.
Six Areas of Focus
- Self-Help and Independence
- Social and Emotional Confidence
- Language and Communicative Skills
- Pre-literacy and Academic Success
- Fine Motor Proficiency
- Gross Motor Capability

At Sweet Pea Scholars, we nurture growth and learning in a safe environment.
At Sweet Pea Scholars, both our indoor and outdoor spaces have been intentionally designed to support the needs of the 5 children present within our environment. Every area is thoughtfully arranged to provide a balance of collaborative play, quiet independent spaces, sensory exploration, representation, movement opportunities, seated activities, and group lessons. This careful planning ensures that each child has the space and resources to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing and engaging setting.

Sensory Exploration
Our sensory hallway is an interactive space featuring rotating sensory resources and exploration materials.

Outdoor Equipment
Our fenced-in outdoor play space is equipped with a trampoline, play structure, playhouse, and plenty of open space for active movement.

Designated Spaces
This is our building zone, which hosts our blocks! Our other favourite spaces are the carpeted area, playroom, and kitchen, including a toddler tower for helping hands!

Carson
Youngest Student
Child of Tyler and Abigail
Carson is a happy, playful, and determined little boy who brings joy and curiosity to Sweet Pea Scholars every day. As a younger member of the group, Carson plays a special role in teaching empathy, patience, and leadership to the older children. His presence encourages his peers to develop nurturing skills and model positive behaviors, while he benefits from observing and learning from their example. Carson’s cheerful nature and eagerness to engage with others create meaningful opportunities for social growth and emotional connection within the program.

Tyler
Maintenance & Groundskeeper
Husband of Abigail, Father of Carson
While Tyler is not often seen within the program during care hours, he plays an essential role behind the scenes at Sweet Pea Scholars. Tyler is responsible for much of the labour, repairs, and yard maintenance that keep our outdoor play space safe, functional, and full of exciting opportunities for the children to explore. Although Tyler is very quiet and shy, his kind, gentle nature shines through in the care he puts into every project, ensuring the children have a safe and enriching environment to learn and play.
